Bluestem Studio is a visual communications firm located in Evanston, IL just north of Chicago. With over 20 years' experience in illustration and graphic design, owner/principal Denise Wurl has provided creative services to businesses nationwide, both large and small and in various industries.
In 2001 Bluestem Studio began specializing in biomedical visualization, building on previous experience with the pharmaceutical and medical industries. Applying scientific and artistic skills to our work means that we engage both sides of the brain by making sense of complex, highly technical concepts (left brain) and creatively translating that information into communications that are easily understood (right brain).
This left brain/right brain approach has always been a part of what we do for any client — if the message to your audience is unclear, no amount of creativity will resolve it. At Bluestem Studio, we believe successful communications involve not just producing great-looking, well-designed materials — they first must be built on a strong backbone — through utilizing problem-solving skills, analyzing the audience and client objectives, and ensuring that the communication materials meet those objectives every step of the way.
